Centre Alimentaire Aylmer
This stop connects food security with ecological health. The Centre Alimentaire Aylmer, a charitable food assistance organization serving over 11,050 requests annually since 1988, hosts a large pollinator garden designed to attract pollinators to adjacent vegetable beds and naturally draw pests like Japanese beetles away from food crops. Phase 2 of the site will commence planning in 2026, and expands into invasive species removal, native edible planting, a natural classroom, and (possibly) a rain garden.
Plants for this garden were donated by Localeaf Nursery and the large amount of woodchips you see in the photos were curtesy of a donation from Tower Tree Services.
Join Pollinate Aylmer to get involved in the next phase of this project.
